Let's Build a Track Together...Pro 3 in Casio SK-1 Sampling Keyboard

"This little sampling keyboard really has a sound of its own! In this video I sample a bunch of sounds from my Pro 3 into the SK-1 and then make a little track out of them at the end. No external effects were used. I made the track by rearranging the audio samples in Ableton Live.

Pro 3 + Subharmonicon: Do They Fit Together?

"Today I wanted to try my Moog Subharmonicon as a jam companion for keyboard playing on the Sequential Pro 3. It's failed before, so why would it work this time? Because I used an external effect! The Subharmonicon is running through my TipTop Audio Echoz eurorack delay, which rocks. It made all the difference in the world and set the tone for a super fun session."

"Sequential Pro 3-based eurorack! Tutorial/walkthrough on adding the fewest modules possible to the Pro 3 to get a living modular music making machine! Kind of crazy how easy it was. The sequencer is so powerful and since there are 4 CV ins and outs, there was a ton of room to play. I really only scratched the surface of what's possible here, there's a whole world of modular just waiting to be explored using the Pro 3 at the core of the system. Accessing the LFOs, the envelopes, sending the oscillators in and out...I really feel like this instrument would make getting into eurorack for beginners so much easier, so I kind of treated this like a beginners guide to eurorack too. You could legitimately just add one or two modules and create entire tracks! It also seems to cover a lot of the same ground as Pamela's New Workout, which serves as the brain of a lot of modular synth systems.

Sequential Pro 3 Patch Morphing Demo

"This is a little jam utilizing the patch morphing feature of the brand new OS 1.2.0.0. I mostly used it to change the delay time, feedback, and reverb predelay, but it also brings the mixer section back home.

I used two square wave LFOs to create arp-like effects within the sequence controlled by the mod wheel. The touch slider affects the noise level, filter cutoff, filter drive, filter envelope release, and more tuning from the square LFOs.

Overall this jam felt a lot like what I do with my modular systems, which is pretty amazing considering it's 'just a mono.' It's the combination of great bones-basic sound, a strong sequencer, modular-level modulation matrix, lovely FX, and enough performance controls to get into a flow.

The update also introduced some clicking into the signal path when some of the FX are applied. This issue was basically immediately fixed in OS 1.2.0.2 (released only a couple hours after 1.2.0.0), but I made this video before downloading the update and...call me crazy but I think the clicks added a nice little bit of dimension here, so I'll take it."

"I wrote this Debussy-inspired piece specifically for the Prophet 6 after the vintage mode update came out. Headphones recommended! In the first section I use the stereo field to create a sonic drone orb. The second section is improvisational, leaning on a minor 6/9 chord into a major 7(#11). The third is variations on a lovey motif.

I really don't know anything about classical music, but this is where my ear lead me this time. Hope you enjoy it.
